专利说明:

The invention relates to a recycled wood product comprising 50 to 90% by weight of wood broken into pieces of wood and plastic mixed together, which recycled wood product is made by molding. Pressure impregnated wood is industrially protected timber in impregnation plants that has been treated with impregnation preservatives that prevent the wood from decaying and blueing.
Preferably, the pressure impregnated timber is pine. In pressure-impregnated wood, the preservative is introduced into the wood in an impregnation cylinder by means of water and pressure, whereby the preservative penetrates through the surface wood cell exposed to rot.
Pressure impregnated wood is a product that is particularly suitable for outdoor use and has been widely used in various applications, such as terraces. Discarded pressure impregnated wood is a hazardous waste, as the impregnation agent used in its production is often harmful to the environment, such as chromium and arsenic salts, which have been used as pressure impregnation preservatives in the past. Traditionally, the disposal of pressure impregnated wood has been accomplished by O burning. The small number of suitable combustion plants O 25 for this purpose has led to the transfer of decommissioned = pressure impregnated wood in some cases hundreds, even thousands of kilometers to the nearest suitable combustion plant. The transfer generates a significant amount of emissions regardless of the transfer method N. For example, in Finland at least part of the decommissioned = 30 pressure impregnated timber is transported to Germany for incineration. N In addition, the problem of conventional treatment is the 5 emissions from incineration.
The object of the invention is to provide a recycled wood product which can be made from discarded pressure impregnated wood so that the toxins contained in the pressure impregnated wood cannot spread into the environment. The characteristic features of the present invention appear from the appended claim 1. The purpose of the recycled wood product according to the invention can be achieved with a recycled wood product comprising 50-90% by weight of broken wood and plastic mixed with each other, which recycled wood product is made by casting recycled impregnated wood and plastic. In addition, the recycled wood product includes uniform surface layers formed of a plastic film to encapsulate pieces of wood within the recycled wood product.
Such a recycled wood product made entirely or almost entirely from recycled raw material can replace the use of virgin raw material and increase the efficiency of the circular economy. At the same time, long transfers of pressure-impregnated wood and recycled plastic to processing plants can be avoided. Plastic films can be used to ensure that the pieces of wood do not come into full contact with the environment on the outer surface of the recycled wood product in the casting situation, but that the plastic film is always missed. In other words, the plastic hermetically encloses the pieces of wood. S 25 = According to a preferred embodiment, the recycled wood product comprises s steel mesh to improve the rigidity of the recycled wood product. = Recycled wood product stiffened with steel mesh can be used for applications requiring more than N load-bearing capacity. On the other hand, the = 30 blade net acts as a structure that isolates the wood material inside the new wood product.
N> ”
Preferably, the recycled wood product comprises two said steel meshes spaced apart. This can strengthen the recycled wood product in particular.
Preferably, the plastic film has a thickness of 1 to 6 mm. Such a plastic thickness is strong enough to withstand the stresses of making a recycled wood product.
The recycled wood product may comprise recycled rubber from 5 to 20% by weight of the total weight of the recycled wood product. Rubber can be used to achieve strength for a recycled wood product.
Alternatively, the recycled wood product may comprise concrete from 5 to 20% by weight of the total weight of the recycled wood product. Concrete can be used to achieve more load-bearing capacity for a recycled wood product. The recycled wood product according to the invention can be produced by a method in which recycled wood is made from pressure impregnated wood in the following steps, in which the impregnated wood is broken into wood pieces, recycled plastic is mixed with the wood pieces to form a wood plastic composite material and molded from the wood plastic composite
S S 25 In this way, problematic pressure impregnated timber = can be encapsulated in a recycled wood product inside recycled plastic, s in which case the harmful chemicals used for pressure impregnation = cannot be transferred from the N pieces of wood formed from pressure impregnated wood to the environment. The recycled wood product according to the invention = 30 is excellently suitable, for example, as insulation boards or boards for improving load-bearing capacity, which are placed in the soil, for example as the bottom of a road. In such an application, the plastic material of the recycled wood product is not exposed to UV radiation from sunlight, which is known to degrade recycled plastic. The recycled wood product can be used locally for various purposes, so that decommissioned pressure impregnated timber does not have to be transported abroad for incineration.
The recycled plastic can be heated to a temperature of 200 to 350 ° C, preferably 200 to 350 ° C before it is mixed with the pieces of wood. At such a temperature, the recycled plastic is liquid and flowable, making it easy to surround the pieces of wood when the two are mixed together. Preferably, the recycled wood product mixes pieces of wood and recycled plastic so that the recycled wood product contains 50 = 90% by weight of wood. In this case, the properties of the wood raw material are dominant in the recycled wood product, in which case the thermal insulation and stiffness of the recycled wood product are good. Preferably, the wood-plastic composite material is cast as a continuous cast between plastic films into a recycled wood product to encapsulate wood. In this case, it can be ensured that all pieces of wood are securely encapsulated inside the recycled wood product and that the pieces of wood do not come into contact with the environment. In this case, even the smallest emissions of harmful chemicals into the environment are not released from the pieces of wood formed from pressure-impregnated timber. s According to one embodiment, a steel mesh is added to the wood-plastic composite material = to improve the stiffness N of the resulting recycled wood product. With the help of the steel mesh, the load-bearing capacity and = 30 stiffness of the recycled wood product can be multiplied, whereby its applications in N civil engineering are diversified and it can be used for applications requiring 5 higher load-bearing capacities.
According to another embodiment, recycled rubber is added to the wood-plastic composite material in an amount of 5 to 20% by weight of the total weight of the recycled wood product. Recycled rubber is also a hazardous waste that is often incinerated. Now, recycled rubber 5 could advantageously be used as a raw material in a recycled wood product. Preferably, the recycled wood product according to the invention has a proportion of the total weight of plastic which remains when the proportion of wood and any steel mesh, concrete or rubber is deducted from the total weight, but at least 10% of the total weight. With the recycled wood product according to the invention, the decommissioned pressure-impregnated wood currently treated as hazardous waste can be converted into a raw material for a recycled wood product which can be used for commercial purposes. Even if the value of the recycled wood product is very small, the recycled wood product according to the invention can significantly reduce the carbon dioxide emissions generated during the treatment of pressure-impregnated wood, while long transports and burning of the wood become unnecessary. The invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings illustrating some embodiments of the invention, in which S 25 = Figure 1 shows a cross section of a first embodiment of a recycled wood product s according to the invention, = Figure 2 shows a cross section of a second embodiment N recycled wood product according to the invention.
N Next, a manufacturing process of the recycled wood product 5 according to the invention will be described in more detail. In an embodiment, the pressure impregnated timber transported to the production site can be cleaned, i.e. washed or blown to remove loose sand, stones and other debris from the timber surface. The cleaned pressure impregnated timber is preferably chipped into pieces of wood of different grain sizes. The grain size can vary between 0.01 and 3 cm, making chipping easy to achieve. The grain size distribution can be quite even throughout the range and the pieces of wood do not have to be the same size. Alternatively, the timber can also be ground to a corresponding grain size. Cleaning the wood before grinding or chipping is important for the maintenance of the grinder or chipper, as the stone easily dulls or breaks the grinder or chipper. In the alternative grinding, the LW process known from solid wood production can be used without weights and wetting or leveling of the wood. The recycled plastic used as another raw material for the recycled wood product can also be broken into smaller pieces and preferably sealed in a melting vessel or mold, for example by means of a hydraulic press. The sealed recycled plastic can be heated to a temperature of 200 to 300 ° C, whereby the plastic melts into a liquid. Advantageously, industrial waste heat can be used for heating by locating a production plant for a recycled wood product, for example in connection with a metal factory, whereby recycled plastic can be melted with the waste heat of a blast furnace. The steps of handling timber and recycled plastic can take place in relation to each other at the same time.
S S 25 Pieces of wood leaving the grinder or chopper and, on the other hand = liquid recycled plastic in the melting mold can be s mixed in a separate mixing vessel into a wood-plastic composite material. The process may include a separate mixing step, N whereby pieces of wood and recycled plastic are actively mixed = 30 in a mixing vessel by means of mixing means. The mixing vessel N can be, for example, a mixing tank similar to pulpers 5 known from the pulp industry, which can have, for example, a paddle mixer. After mixing the wood pieces and the molten plastic, the wood-plastic composite material can be fed rapidly into the pulp.
a dryer-like casting machine which, as a continuous casting, forms a recycled wood product of wood-plastic composite material.
The casting machine may include a headbox through which the wood-plastic composite material is fed between two moving wires.
A plastic film can be applied to each of the surfaces of the wires, each of which forms the surface layer of the recycled wood product, enclosing the wood-plastic composite material between the plastic film.
The recycled wood product cast between the wires can be cooled with water, causing it to detach from the surface of the wires.
If the recycled wood product is made by continuous casting between wires, the recycled wood product can be cut to length by longitudinal cutting to form recycled wood products of a selected size.
According to one embodiment, a hardener may be added to the wood-plastic composite material prior to casting the wood-plastic composite material, which hardener causes the wood-plastic composite material to cure rapidly.
Not all types of recycled plastic require a hardener, but harden on their own when the recycled wood product is cooled.
Alternatively, the wood-plastic composite material may be self-curing.
Alternatively, the wood-plastic composite material can be molded into a mold.
In this case, the inner surfaces of the mold can preferably be clad with a plastic film which seals the wood-plastic composite material.
Recycled wood cast in a mold = the product gets its dimension according to the mold.
The mold may be coated with an anti-adhesive coating, such as a tef-E lon coating. Figures 1 and 2 show cross-sectional views of a recycled wood product N according to the invention.
It can be seen from the cross-section how the pieces of wood 12 remain surrounded by the recycled plastic 14 in the recycled wood product 10. This means that the pieces of wood 12 do not have a free surface in the environment and the entire area of the pieces of wood 12 is surrounded by recycled plastic 14.
Further, this assembly is surrounded by a plastic film 18.
Or, if recycled rubber, for example, is used as an additive in connection with the recycled wood product, the surface area of the pieces of wood may be partially covered by recycled rubber in addition to recycled plastic.
In addition to timber and recycled plastic, recycled rubber that has been ground or chipped into small pieces can be used as a raw material for the recycled wood product.
This can also avoid burning recycled rubber and related problems.
The mixture ratio of wood material and recycled plastic in the recycled wood product may vary so that the wood material is 50 to 90% by weight, preferably 70 to 80% by weight of recycled wood product and 10 to 50% by weight, preferably 20 to 30% by weight mainly recycled plastic and alternatively 0 to 10% by weight - plastic.
The mixture ratio can be changed according to the desired properties of the recycled wood product and the supply of available raw material.
By increasing the proportion of wood, the thermal insulation of the recycled wood product can be improved and, on the other hand, the product can be lightened, the density of the wood being lower than recycled plastic.
For some applications, polyethylene blowing agents or binders or the like can be used as the binder O for the recycled wood product. s Pressure-impregnated wood in this context means = timber in which a protective agent has been fed N through the surface wood cell by means of pressure and water in the impregnation cylinder.
For the purposes of this application, pressure impregnated timber also means N lampposts and sleepers.
It is not intended to use so-called thermal wood as a raw material for the recycled wood product according to the invention, which has only been treated with the use of temperature and water vapor.
The recycled plastic can be, for example, polyethylene or polypropylene plastic. Maleic anhydride and / or maleized polypropylene can be used as the hardener or coupling agent.
When a recycled wood product is used as an insulation, for example in construction, the recycled wood product is very long-lasting because it does not rot and is very resistant to various environmental conditions. Furthermore, since the recycled wood product is preferably hidden from sunlight in its intended use, the UV rays of the sun cannot decompose the recycled plastic forming the outer surface of the recycled wood product is constructed. An alternative use may be, for example, use as sound insulation.
The recycled wood product can be, for example, a plate-like product such as a styrene or urethane sheet, the length and width of which can be, for example, 1.5 m and the thickness 5 to 40 cm.
According to the embodiment shown in Figure 2, the recycled wood product 10 may comprise a steel mesh 20 arranged inside the recycled wood product. The steel mesh 20 can be mounted on the plastic film 18 during casting, leaving it inside the wood-plastic composite material 16 during casting as it hardens. The function of the steel mesh 20 is to limit the penetration of the pieces of wood into the plastic film 18, O but above all to act as a structure O 25 which stiffens the recycled wood product 10. According to Figure 1, there may be one = piece of steel mesh, but alternatively also two or more, depending on the desired stiffness. The plastic film 18 in turn forms the surface layer 22 of the recycled wood product 10.
The plastic film N used in the recycled wood product according to the invention can be any plastic film, preferably 1 to 6 mm thick, but preferably the plastic film can be made of recycled plastic in the production of the recycled wood product before casting the wood-plastic composite material.
According to one embodiment, small amounts, preferably less than 1% by weight of the total weight, of concrete can also be used in the recycled wood product according to the invention as a binder. Concrete 5 brings more load-bearing capacity to the recycled wood product.
